CSSD TECHNICIAN
Diploma in C.S.S.D (Central Sterile Supply Department) Technician allocates the repeatable medical and surgical instruments used in health care settings. The CSSD is taking a key role in hospital-acquired infection control.
Diploma course in CSSD Technology is a one year course conducted in association with Bharat Sevak Samaj(BSS). The course is a blend of classroom lectures and hands on training in live situations. It is mainly aimed to ensure educational freedom for development of vocational skills of an individual to become self-reliant by turning the unskilled to skilled professionals.
This course is aimed at providing healthcare professionals with the knowledge of the standard practical difficulties and challenges connected with the CSSD function and the wide range of working skills required to deliver a high standard of care for patients and the healthcare circle.
Duration:
One year course with theory session and practical session for the other six months.
Mode of selection:
On the basis of marks scored in the qualifying examination and personal interview.
Scope of CSSD Course:
- This course will provide the essential skills required to work in a Hospital Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD).
- Trainee will learn in detail about the essential skills required to work in a hospital CSSD.
- Trainee shall be exposed to basics of sterilization, operations and handling of sterilizers, documentation, quality control and sterilization practices.
- The course shall also interlink and teach coordination of CSSD & Infection control.
- CSSD technician will have gained the appropriate knowledge and skill to maintain the cleanliness, functionality and inventory of healthcare instrumentation and equipment.
- Technician will have procured necessary skills for sterilizing instrumentation and equipment through a series of critical steps.
- Technician will consider himself or herself responsible to ensures that patients avoid infections and those doctors, nurses and allied health professionals are able to access the instrumentation and equipment they need immediately.

CRITICAL CARE NURSING (CCN)
